Who is Combat Stress?

Combat Stress is a leading charity based in the United Kingdom providing support and assistance to veterans suffering from complex mental health issues to help them tackle these issues from their past and face the future.

This charity provides specialist treatment for veterans from every service and conflict, “focusing on those with complex mental health issues related to their military service.”

Since 1919, Combat Stress has assisted former servicemen and women deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression.  Many veterans turn to Combat Stress for support at their darkest hour, usually years after leaving armed conflict.  It takes approximately 13 years for a veteran to recognise that they are suffering from mental health issues and seek help.

During this year’s COVID-19 pandemic, the need for this charity’s specialist services remained critical.  With lockdown measures put in place, clinical staff were not able to meet with veterans in person but enhanced their phone and digital services to ensure veterans received the support that they needed.

Every donation, large or small is critical to supporting and empowering veterans, rebuilding families and saving lives.  The work that this charity does is life-changing in helping those who are suffering mentally after serving their country.

In December 2020 Sean, a former Trainer/Mentor for TDI attempted to raise £10,000 for Combat Stress by running 26 miles in full body armour whilst on deployment. He ran on Christmas day and managed to raise a significant donation. If you have not donated yet, please consider supporting this worthy cause.  Every single donation that this charity receives is critical to ensuring veterans get the support that they need.
