Meet Roshan, TDI Operations Manager for Sudan and South Sudan. Roshan, a qualified Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Operator from Sri Lanka, began his career in humanitarian Mine Action in 2002. With sixteen years of experience in Demining, his career has taken him to a range of countries including Burundi, Philippines, Armenia and Kosovo.
Roshan has worked for TDI since 2012. In his current role, he is responsible for all operations and technical activities on the project. He plans and coordinates the execution of all tasks whilst analysing and supervising all operational data ensuring that the project meets the stipulated report obligations. His sixteen years of experience have proved invaluable in training other national and international staff to develop their professional skills in Geographic Information System Mapping, Survey techniques and Demining drills.
Roshan and his international colleagues, who are from twelve different countries, work together as a formidable team in order to provide humanitarian assistance to those living in at-risk areas. He finds satisfaction in the clearance work that TDI are currently doing, expressing that “it makes me happy to see when unproductive land is turned into productive land.”
