Meet our Operations Assistant, Chipo

To celebrate International Women’s Day this month, we focus on the women working hard in front and behind the scenes for TDI. We begin by introducing you to Chipo; a working mother of three girls and an Operations Assistant for TDI. Many of you may have spoken to her on the phone from Kenya, Australia or even Nepal, so we wanted to put a face to her name.

Born and educated in Zimbabwe, Chipo joined TDI in 2012. She manages the front desk at the TDI headquarters so she is often the first person that you will see. Chipo plays a vital role in the process of selecting the most suitably qualified candidates for available opportunities on both new and existing contracts. Part of her role as Operations Assistant is to handle all of the job applications that TDI receives, maintaining our growing database.

She works as part of a team who administer visas, entry letters, accommodation and inoculations, to ensure the smooth deployment of staff to and from their countries of operation. With her eight years of experience in the Mine Action industry, Chipo is a key member of the TDI team and is crucial to our recruitment process; identifying the best possible personnel for our projects.
